The Molics’ dreamy family maternity session was full of sweet little moments and authentic connection!
I first connected with this family when one of my other clients recommended me. With a new baby boy on the way, the Molics booked me to help them capture this fleeting moment in their family’s life. And I am so glad they did. You can tell from the pictures how much this baby is already loved. You can also see how excited big brother is to meet his new best friend!
Depending on your vision, maternity sessions can take place outdoors or in the comfort of your own home. The Molic family initially wanted an outdoor session. But, before we finalized the booking, Mama mentioned some concerns about their son and the cold weather. So, she showed me some pictures of their sweet nursery and we relocated this dreamy family maternity session to their home.
Parents know their kiddos best. This shoot is an excellent example of why it’s essential to make the choice that’s best for your little ones. Because he was comfortable, the Molics’ son was at ease in front of the camera. And that made it much easier for me to capture his adorable personality! Plus, the light in their nursery was just perfection, making this a truly dreamy family maternity session. Session time is so important for in-home sessions because the lighting is everything. With this shoot, I made sure the session time worked around naptimes but also gave us the perfect natural light.
The family chose light, neutral tones for their outfits. Combined with the light tones of the nursery walls and contrasting with the dark wood tones of the crib, these choices make the final photos feel timeless. We started the session by singing songs and capturing sweet moments between the family. Then, we played running games to get those organic, candid shots.
From goofy smiles to sweet snuggles to quiet moments between mom and dad, the family will cherish these photos for years to come. This dreamy family maternity session was a perfect way to document the Molic family’s transition from a family of three to four.
