Briella’s newborn family photography session – party of five!
This family was just thrilled to welcome their new baby girl into the world. Briella is this family’s youngest sibling with two older brothers. And I have to tell you, watching these boys adore their baby sister was too precious. All in all, there was so much love and authentic connection in this session. It was so lovely to be a part of Briella’s newborn family photography session!
First, I started the shoot by taking pictures of the nursery. There were sweet little details placed everywhere, and the natural light was perfect for capturing them all. Then, mama looked through my newborn closet and picked out some outfits for baby girl Briella. In the end, she chose three different outfits. The rib-knit jumpsuit from Luna + Luca paired with my newest flower crown was my favorite outfit of the day.
Then, we incorporated mom’s wedding dress into this newborn family photography session. We laid baby girl on top of the dress, then used the gorgeous lace-edged veil as a sort of blanket, laying it over Briella. I think this was one of the most unique and beautiful parts of the shoot. I loved getting creative with the gown and veil to capture some heirloom-quality photos for this family.
Finally, we wrapped up the session with some family photos on the living room sofa. The boys were free to move around while mom and dad took turns holding baby Briella. You can see so much of the little guys’ personalities in these final shots. Some of the best photos happen when everyone is just relaxing comfortably together.
Throughout this session, I caught authentic moments of connection and glimpses of the family’s relationships. That is my absolute favorite thing about my work, getting the opportunity to capture a family’s genuine connection through candid, organic shots! My photography is all about natural light and true-to-life family memories. This gallery is an excellent example of just that!
