This adorable, candid lifestyle newborn session was all about the fleeting little details!

I first met this sweet family when they welcomed me into their home to photograph their brand-new baby girl. Mama wanted to focus the shoot on capturing candid lifestyle photos that authentically captured this brief moment in their family life. That idea really excited me because those kinds of shots are my absolute favorite!

We started this candid lifestyle newborn session in baby girl’s room. This family’s nursery décor was everything. All the details and little touches were bright and colorful, just perfection! We also took some photos in the parents’ other favorite areas of the home, really capturing their relationships. In-home sessions are the best for getting those true-to-life photos. This is because the whole family is relaxed and comfortable in their everyday environment.

When we did this session, baby girl was exactly one week old. And she was such a joy to photograph in all her newborn littleness! She slept for some of the session but was wide awake and happy most of the time. She was so sweet and cooperative as we got all the shots. We got everything from her tiny toes to her little hands to all the other adorable newborn details.
